Industry: Insurance

Business Problem

  • Financial needs drive this data warehouse solution. Insurance policies were being tracked on one system while claims against those policies were tracked on an entirely separate platform. The highest priority questions to answer were, "How much money is being spent on claims per policy?" and "How does that relate to policy premiums?".

Business Solutions

  • The project team for this warehouse effort was based on a partnership between the client and Raymond James. The client supplied the core business analysis and development skills while Raymond James supplied the project management and technical architecture expertise to focus the entire team on the end goal. The warehouse platform is an Oracle RDBMS utilizing star schemas and BusinessObjects for data delivery.

Technology

  • Oracle Database utilizing star schemas
  • Business Objects
